Hi, I’m Achal. I work on backend systems and spend most of my time trying to understand how things behave when they break.

I got into this pretty randomly. I installed Linux once just to see how it works, and ended up breaking my system multiple times. Instead of stopping, I kept trying to fix it, reinstalling things, changing kernels, messing with window managers, and just exploring.

At some point I realized I enjoyed figuring out how things actually work under the hood, not just using them.

That slowly led me into programming and backend systems. Right now I’m working as a DevOps Intern at Delhivery, where I deal with Kubernetes, cloud systems, and a lot of debugging when things don’t behave as expected.

I tend to go deeper into problems. Even if something is fixed, I still try to understand why it broke in the first place.

This site is just a place where I keep things I’ve built and things I’ve learned.

What I'm Doing

• Reading *Computer Systems: A Programmer’s Perspective* to build a better understanding of how things work at a lower level.
• Working on a small audio normalizer in C to explore systems programming and how programs interact with memory and data.
• Exploring ideas for a CLI-based personal library assistant, and figuring out how to make natural language interaction actually useful in a terminal workflow.
